Why in Nihonbashi

Nihonbashi, where the traditional rubs shoulders with the cutting edge, has historically been a wellspring of new value creation. Moreover, it is the place where the business interests of Japan's most prominent pharmaceutical companies converge and where insights in the life sciences coalesce.

Centrally located in the heart of Tokyo, Nihonbashi boasts an inviting urban environment that offers a wide range of retail, lodging, and other facilities and is the focus of attention on both the domestic and international levels for the media, the general public, and investors. Nihonbashi was designated a global life science business hub by the Tokyo prefectural government in its Long-Term Vision for Tokyo formulated in 2014.

LINK-J was founded in Nihonbashi to help spur open innovation and foster genuine cross-disciplinary exchange between individuals. To this end, we promote collaboration between industry, government and academia in life science fields. Our aim is to be an engine for future development by driving forward interaction and collaboration between foreign and domestic venture companies and operating companies, organizations, venture capitalists, universities, the Tokyo prefectural government, and other institutions.
