CRISPR-Cas3 Basic Patent Issued in China (Patent No. ZL 2020 8 0025993.1)

C4U is pleased to announce that the patent for the invention  “METHOD FOR PRODUCING KNOCK-IN CELL“ related to CRISPR-Cas3 genome editing technology, for which C4U has been granted  exclusive licenses with sublicensing rights from the University of Osaka, was issued in China on July 11, 2025 as Patent No. ZL 2020 8 0025993.1.
This invention is one of the foundational intellectual property elements of CRISPR-Cas3 technology, along with the inventions “METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING DNA-EDITED EUKARYOTIC CELL, AND KIT USED IN METHOD” and "GENOME EDITING METHOD", that have already been patented in Japan and other countries.
This invention has also been patented in Japan (Patent No. 7426120), now this registration in China marks the first registration outside of Japan.
C4U will continue to strengthen its intellectual property foundation surrounding CRISPR-Cas3 technology worldwide and accelerate its application in a wide range of fields, including pharmaceutical field.
