第137回HGPIセミナー「食・健康・環境を感染症から守る ― 獣医疫学の挑戦と展望」

日本医療政策機構（HGPI）では、医療政策のオピニオンリーダーやイノベーターを招き、さまざまな医療政策のテーマに関するセミナーを開催しています。

近年、人獣共通感染症の発生が相次ぎ、社会全体に大きな影響を及ぼしています。なかでも、近年問題となっている新興・再興感染症の多くは動物由来であり、動物から人、また人から動物への感染拡大が懸念されています。

今回のHGPIセミナーでは、国際獣疫事務局（WOAH: World Organisation for Animal Health）食の安全コラボレーティングセンターでもある酪農学園大学の蒔田浩平氏をお迎えします。日本のみならず、東南アジア、南アジア、サハラ以南アフリカでの豊富なご経験をもとに、人獣共通感染症の現状や、獣医学及び獣医疫学の課題や今後の展望についてご共有いただきます。

蒔田 浩平 氏（酪農学園大学獣医学群・大学院獣医学研究科 獣医疫学教授／酪農学園大学国際獣疫事務局食の安全コラボレーティングセンター長）

1971年福井県生まれ。1995年日本獣医畜産大学獣医学科卒業。2009年エジンバラ大学感染症センター博士課程修了。1995年埼玉県庁入庁。1998年埼玉県庁派遣国際協力事業団（JICA）青年海外協力隊ネパール王国。2008年国際農業研究評議グループ（CGIAR）国際家畜研究所（ILRI）Safe Food Fair Food projectポスドク。2010年酪農学園大学獣医疫学准教授。2014年国際獣疫事務局（WOAH）食の安全コラボレーティングセンター長。2018年酪農学園大学・大学院教授。専門は獣医疫学。日本および東南アジア、南アジア、サハラ以南アフリカの動物の感染症・非感染症、人獣共通感染症の疫学、ワンヘルス研究に従事。

Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI) holds seminars with opinion leaders and innovators on a wide-range of domestic and international topics related to health policy.

In recent years, there has been a succession of zoonotic disease outbreaks that have had major impacts on society as a whole. Many of the emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases causing concern today originate from animals, raising alarms about the bidirectional spread of infections between animals and humans.

In this HGPI seminar, we welcome Dr. Kohei Makita from Rakuno Gakuen University, which also serves as the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) Collaborating Centre for Food Safety. Based on his extensive experience not only in Japan but also in Southeast Asia, South Asia, and sub-Saharan Africa, he will share insights on the current state of zoonotic diseases and the challenges and future prospects of veterinary medicine and veterinary epidemiology.

Dr. Kohei Makita (Professor, Veterinary Epidemiology, School of Veterinary Medicine & Graduate School of Veterinary Medicine, Rakuno Gakuen University / Director, WOAH Collaborating Centre for Food Safety, Rakuno Gakuen University)
Born in Fukui Prefecture in 1971. Graduated from School of Veterinary Medicine, Nippon Veterinary and Life Science University, in 1995. Completed doctoral program at the University of Edinburgh　Centre for Immunity, Infection and Evolution in 2009. Joined Saitama Prefectural Government in 1995. Dispatched from Saitama Prefectural Government to Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) as a Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteer to the Kingdom of Nepal in 1998. Postdoctoral researcher at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) Safe Food Fair Food project under the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) in 2008. Associate Professor of Veterinary Epidemiology at Rakuno Gakuen University in 2010. Director of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) Collaborating Centre for Food Safety in 2014. Professor at Rakuno Gakuen University and Graduate School in 2018. Specializes in veterinary epidemiology. Engaged in epidemiological research on infectious and non-infectious diseases in animals, zoonotic diseases, and One Health research in Japan, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and sub-Saharan Africa.
