On Tuesday, April 1st, 2025, "Exploring Business & Research Opportunities in Florida: The Tampa Medical and Research District & Japan’s Innovation Network" was held at the Nihonbashi Life Science Hub and online.

A delegation from Florida came to Japan, and Mayor Jane Castor of Tampa, Florida, University of South Florida (USF) President Rhea F. Law, USF Vice President Prasant Mohapatra, and Shunichi Takahashi, President and COO of LINK-J gave opening remarks.

Following the opening remarks, Akira Shimizu, CEO of Nipro Medical Corporation (presented online), Charles Lockwood, Dean of the USF School of Medicine, and Stacey Brandt, Vice President of Tampa General Hospital, introduced their respective research and initiatives.

Thirty people attended in person and 37 online, and the networking time was a great success, with participants asking questions to the speakers and exchanging information. Participants made comments such as, "I learned about Tampa's efforts in life sciences," and "I got information about a new innovation hub," and we at LINK-J also learned something new from the event.
