“イノベーションの開拓者：中国バイオテックの10年、そして未来へ”

　ほんの10年前の2016年、中国のバイオテック企業はまだ数が少なく、画期的なパイプラインに出会うことも滅多にありませんでした。しかし、この10年で状況は一変しました。

　ADCや二重特異性抗体、低分子化合物を柱とするがん領域での飛躍を皮切りに、現在では免疫疾患、肥満症、眼科、そして近い将来には神経疾患へと、その治療領域を急速に拡大させています。中国バイオテックが次々と生み出すパイプラインは、いまや活発なグローバル提携を強力に牽引する存在となっています。

　本セッションでは、上海を拠点に数々の戦略的パートナーシップを結実させてきたハーム＝ヤン氏が登壇し、研究開発の最前線や交渉現場で培った「生の声」をお届けします。

　急速に進化する中国エコシステムのダイナミズムを解き明かすとともに、スピード感が求められる現代のグローバル環境において、日本企業が競争力を高め勝ち残るためのヒントを探ります。

“Architects of Innovation: China’s Biotech Sector 2016 – 2026 and beyond”

In 2016 the number of Chinese biotech companies was rather small, and it was rare to see an innovative pipeline. In the past 10 years this has changed, first in the field of oncology with ADCs, bispecifics, and small molecules to now include therapeutic fields like immunology, obesity, ophthalmology and perhaps soon neurology. The pipelines of the Chinese biotechs have driven cross-border deal making.

In this session, we welcome Harm-Jan, who is based in Shanghai, and has driven many strategic partnerships between Chinese biotechs and Roche in multiple therapeutic areas. Harm-Jan will share real-world insights directly from the bench and negotiation tables in China. He will discuss the dynamics of China’s emerging ecosystem, and how Japanese companies could potentially learn to become competitive in today’s fast-moving-innovation-environment.
