Technology Series第7弾では、外科医でHoloeyes創業者・帝京大学教授の杉本真樹氏をお迎えしてお送りします。
いま医療・ヘルスケア領域で加速するデジタル変革が注目されています。あらゆる医療データはデジタル化され、ウェアラブル端末やXR（Extended Reality）技術も多くの施設で実用化されています。
コロナ禍でリモート・非接触を可能とする技術も進化し、医師は医用画像から臓器や病変を仮想空間と現実世界に重ねて表示することで、病気や健康状態を手にとるように理解できます。さらにコミュニケーション・教育はアバター(分身)を利用した次世代のプラットフォームであるメタバース(仮想空間)へと発展しています。
本セッションではこれらの技術革新の第一人者が、医療現場の実情と将来展望についてお話します。

For our seventh Technology Series event, we are pleased to welcome Maki Sugimoto of Teikyo University, who is also a surgeon and the founder of Holoeyes, Inc.

The accelerating digital transformation in the medical and healthcare fields is attracting attention. All sorts of medical data have been digitized, while wearable devices and extended reality (XR) technology are being put to practical use in many facilities. The Covid-19 pandemic has pushed forward technology that enables remote and non-contact medicine, allowing doctors to gain a hands-on understanding of diseases and health conditions by superimposing organs and lesions from medical images over the real world in virtual space.

Communication and education are also evolving into a next-generation virtual platform, what some are calling the metaverse.

Join us for this online session in which Dr. Sugimoto will discuss the present situation and the future of the medical field. Topic will include:

＜About the Speaker - 杉本　真樹＞
医師・医学博士。外科医として25年の臨床経験とシリコンバレー留学を経て株式会社MediaccelとHoloeyes株式会社を創業。医療機器Holoeyes MDを上市。経産省によるJ-Startup, 飛躍Next Enterprise, コンテンツ海外展開促進事業や. NEDO研究開発型ベンチャー支援事業,JETRO Innovation Program JIP,G20 OSAKA SUMMIT JAPAN INNOVATION LOUNGE,東京都モデル事業創出プログラム, 先端事業普及モデル創出事業,King Salmon Projectなどに採択。Microsoft Innovation Award 優秀賞, EY Innovative Startup Award, 楽天テクノロジー&イノベーションアワードなど多数受賞。2014年,Appleより世界を変え続けるInnovator30名に選出。2019年,帝京大学冲永総合研究所教授としてInnovation Labを創設し室長を兼任。

<About the Speaker>
Medical doctor Maki Sugimoto is a professor at the Teikyo University Okinaga Research Institute Innovation Lab and an entrepreneur. After 25 years of clinical experience as a surgeon and study in Silicon Valley, he founded Mediaccel, Inc. and Holoeyes, Inc. The medical device he launched, Holoeyes MD, has been adopted by many organizations for projects such as: the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s J-Startup, HIYAKU Next Enterprise Program, and Overseas Expansion Support project; the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization’s R&D Type Startup Support Business; the JETRO Innovation Program; the G20 Osaka Summit Japan Innovation Lounge; NEXs Tokyo Model Business Creation Program; and the advanced business diffusion model creation business King Salmon Project.

Sugimoto has received many awards, including the Microsoft Innovation Award for Excellence, EY Innovative Startup Award, and Rakuten Technology & Innovation Award. In 2014, he was selected by Apple as one of 30 world-changing innovators. In 2019, as a Teikyo University professor, he founded the Innovation Lab, of which he also serves as head.
