The Nordics as a leading area for innovation is on the rise. In the European Innovation Scoreboards (EIS) 2022, Nordic countries dominated the top 3 rankings.

The number of unicorn companies in the Nordics is second only to Silicon Valley per capita. The strong cooperation between industry, government, and academia, and the social security system which covers medical and educational expenses support and encourage entrepreneurship.

In the healthcare industry, large companies such as Novo Nordisk Pharma and AstraZeneca lead a high level of innovation in diverse fields, while medical clusters like Medicon Valley and research institutions and universities support founders with new technologies and innovations.

The recent increase in investment from Japan to the Nordics is also noteworthy.
With these backgrounds, NIH Tokyo is organizing its 2nd Nordic Healthtech Delegation to Tokyo in end of April. As part of the delegation program, we will hold a pitching and networking (reception) event at LINK-J to showcase the 11 startups participating in the delegation.

The event will be attended by representatives from the Nordic embassies in Tokyo (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden). A warm welcome to this opportunity to connect with the Nordic healthtech community!
