医学・医療の進歩に伴い、細胞内の遺伝子、あるいは細胞そのものを使ったアプローチで、がん・難病などを治療することが可能になってきました。 しかしながら、比較的新しい治療法である遺伝子治療、細胞治療には、効果の有効性、安全面、製造面でまだ多くの課題があります。
本ワークショップでは米国ペンシルバニア大学より、本分野で数多くの研究開発に携わっておられるJames M. WILSON先生、シンガポールA*STAR分子・細胞生物研究所よりJohn CONNOLLY先生らをお招きし、日本の細胞治療分野の研究者等、専門家を迎え、「遺伝子治療」「細胞治療」をテーマとし、治療方法の確立に向けた医療研究開発の現状と課題について、最新の事例を基に今後の研究開発について討論していただきます。
