The persons from Fraunhofer and Harro Höfliger who will be at Nihonbashi Life Science Building

Kai Janning, Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT, Head of Business De-velopment

Kai Janning, M.Sc., born in 1995 studied mechanical engineering at the RWTH Aachen. There he increasingly focused on biomedical applications. After working and studying in Germany, Australia and the USA he gained valuable experience in the development and production of medical and medicinal products. At Fraunhofer IPT, Kai is working in the field of laboratory automation and worked as a business unit manager and is also strong-ly involved in projects with the industry.

In his current role, Kai is responsible for the strategic development of the innovation field »Life Sciences Engineering« and pushes forward production technology research for the sector of cell and gene therapies.


Louisa Weltin, M. Sc., Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT, research fel-low, Automation in Life Sciences

Louisa Weltin, M. Sc., born in 1995, studied Biotechnology at the University of Aachen and worked for six months in Kyoto at the Kyoto University Institute of Technology. She is now working as a research assistant in the department of Bioadaptive Production at the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT since 2022. Louisa takes on the role of project manager in the EU project AIDPATH (automated CAR-T cell production) and is active in various project which are related to ATMPs.

Christian Kollecker. B. Eng., Harro Höfliger, Director Sales Aseptic Processing

Christian Kollecker is working in the aseptic and liquid filling business for over 14 years and has experience in project and product management, as well as a strong focus to sales and business development. In his position as Sales Director Aseptic Technologies, he is worldwide responsible for all projects regarding liquid filling applications and aseptic requirements for customized equipment solutions and is supporting and consulting his customers during product development until final production scale up. Following the credo “from lab to production”, all kind of aseptic projects are handled by Christian and his team at HH to find solutions for customer specific equipment and needs. During his engagements in different companies, he gained experiences in various pharmaceutical manufacturing areas like parenteral device handling and manufacturing, product devel-opment and integrated machine solutions as well as different countries and cultures all over the world.
He holds a graduate degree in industrial engineering from a German university as well as an Open University degree.

Julian Grossmann. M. Eng., Harro Höfliger, Sales Manager Aseptic Processing

Julian Grossmann, M. Eng., born 1991 studied mechanical engineering and started his professional career 2012 in the field of customized machine building. Since 2018 Julian had different roles in the aseptic and liquid filling business. In his current position as Sales Manager Aseptic Processing, Julian is supporting and consulting his customers in aseptic processing projects from early stage to commercialization with a high focus on parenteral products and ATMPs.

Alexander Mayer Graduate Eng., Harro Höfliger, Vice President Sales

Alexander Mayer is Vice President Sales at Harro Höfliger. He has joined Harro Höfliger in 2008 and looks back to 16 years of running sales teams, developing new sales territories, and taking care of key customers and accounts for customized equipment.
In Harro Höfliger, but also in former companies, he got involved in many different pharmaceutical and medical projects and collected experience in solid dose-, liquid- and numerous further applications for device handling-, manufacturing-, or packaging processes.
In a former position to his engagement at Harro Höfliger he lived in the United States for several years being the U.S. – Sales Director for a pharmaceutical packing machine company.
He holds a graduate degree in industrial engineering from a German university.
