第29回LINK-J オンライン・ネットワーキング・トーク
シリーズ３回目となる『日英ライフサイエンスセミナー』では、英国がグローバルをリードする細胞治療 (cell therapy) およびオルガノイド製造に関する優れた知財と製造技術を有する英国企業２社の紹介を行います。
細胞治療においては、その輸送効率を高め、治癒を必要とする肝部位等に効率的に届けることが重要となります。AcuLiverは独自のプログラミングと組織のカプセル化により、この効率を高めると同時に、大量培養を行う際の変異が起きにくい技術を併用させています。
Cellesce社からは、患者由来のオルガノイドを安定的に大量培養する技術とビジネスの最新情報をお伝えします。ロット間差や形状・大きさの違いにより創薬開発現場への導入が遅れているオルガノイドの欠点を克服する技術が評価され、グローバル製薬企業等での採用が増えています。
日英ライフサイエンスセミナーでは、過去に相互のエコシステム強化のあり方や、AI創薬、プロセスエンジニアリング等の紹介を行って参り、毎回多くの聴講を頂いております。本シリーズのモデレーターは、英国Oxford在住の松永昌之氏（LINK-Jサポーター）が務めます。

Dr Marcus Yeo – Co-founder Director of AcuLive Therapeutics Ltd.
Marcus is a scientific entrepreneur in regenerative medicine field with having key network in Cambridge area. He established and lead a stem cell company, DefiniGEN for about 9 years. Recently he established a sector-disrupting liver therapeutic enterprise called AcuLive Therapeutics, leveraging technology from the University of Cambridge. AcuLive’s mission is to generate new therapeutic modalities for the treatment of liver diseases ranging from acute liver failure to NASH.
Dr Hozefa Amijee – Head of Business Development of Cellesce Ltd.
Hozefa has extensive experience in commercial life science companies both within R&D and CRO environments. He strengthens the Cellesce Team heavily engaged in organoid R&D as it moves into a stronger commercial phase, adding new tissue lines and broadening its expansion capabilities. Hozefa leads Cellesce Business Development activity as it gains traction through the leverage of its organoid expertise and bioprocessing scale-up technology. Hozefa was formerly Senior Scientific Officer with Rxcelerate based in Cambridge. He gained his Ph.D. at Manchester University.

25+ year early-stage business development specialist mainly between the UK and Japan. Masashi has a background in biomedical and life sciences and specialises in international business development and strategic network building. Masashi is an active figure in the Japanese innovation ecosystem; he is an advisor for MEDISO, the Medical Innovation Support Office, a Japanese government funded programme supporting medical start-ups; and works closely with LINK-J, Life Science Innovation Network Japan. Masashi is passionate about promoting collaboration between UK and Japanese start-ups and investors, unlocking the commercialisation potential of cutting-edge science and technology research.
